My Story
Throughout my career, I’ve had the great fortune to work on some truly inspiring projects while meeting many influential and creative individuals along the way. I believe in working together to create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. My journey began when I took the risk of leaving everything I have ever known in Honolulu, Hawai'i and grasping at every opportunity that came my way.
When I moved to Austin, TX, I was able to accept my love for design. While undergoing a full time college schedule and a full time job, I decided to do something for myself and create my own path towards my life goals. Google gave me the courage to take the first step and I am excited to share all I have learned throughout my life.
Why Psychology and UX?
Ohana is, and always will be, my number one priority. Growing up with four half siblings and two step siblings created an environment where different perspectives and individuality was valued. I was the natural born artist of my family, and nothing felt better than sharing my work with the ones I love most. My youngest brother was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in 2008, and that's when I knew I wanted to do everything I could to understand the foundations of behavior, development, and what it actually means to "function in society". I eventually majored in Psychology in college, and my love/interest for it continued to grow. However, it didn't feel right to let my love for creativity diminish. Finding the UX field felt like a dream come true and I knew that I had found my place in this world. To me, it's the natural intersection of using psychology to create inclusive experiences for everyone and my passion for creativity.
